EAA Board of Governors Suspends Kesavan Korand for Misconduct

EAA BOARD OF GOVERNORS SUSPENDS KESAVAN KORAND FOR MISCONDUCT

The following motion was made and approved at the Board of Governors meeting on February 20,2008.

MOTION

The EAA Executive Committee moves that Governor Kesavan Korand be suspended from the EAA Board of Governors for six consecutive Governor's meetings, until the next regularly scheduled Board of Governors meeting in September. This suspension is a result of Governor Korand's continued misconduct. He was previously censured by this Board for misconduct and excluded from Executive Closed Sessions of the Board because of his inability to maintain confidentiality.

At the January 19th, 2008 Board meeting, he was once again asked to remove himself from the Board Room, in compliance with the previously adopted disciplinary action of the Board, because of sensitive issues to be discussed in Executive Closed Session with the Mayor's Senior Labor Advisor present . He refused to honor the will of the Board, made a spectacle of himself in front of the Mayor's Senior Labor Advisor, and eventually had to be escorted out of the Board Room. His misconduct that evening could have jeopardized an extremely important ongoing negotiation affecting the entire EAA membership at a critical stage.

This suspension will revoke all Governor's rights, powers, and prerogatives for the period it is in effect.
